NYC again

May 13, 2015

For one reason or another, I always find myself back in NYC…and always walk (limp) away with too many blisters. Just a few observation shots from my visit last month to the Big Apple to see some friends.…

Cadillac Ranch – Amarillo, TX

May 7, 2015

Didn’t realize Amarillo, TX, has a little more to it than being a convenient pit stop location in the middle of the desert (and the yellow rose of Texas…♪♪). I’ve been through Amarillo before but had no idea what I was missing out on along I-40 and the old Route 66: a bunch of old cars shoved into the ground as an art display with free-for-all spray paint. I made it to Cadillac Ranch just before sunset and a storm.…

Families Portrait

The Ropers

April 30, 2015

Making a cross-country drive isn’t so bad when you can stop and see good friends in the middle. Spent some time in Shreveport, LA, to visit my old college buddies–my first roomie (awwwww) and her husband (double awwwww)–and dusted off the camera to take some family portraits. It’s been a long time since I’ve done a family shoot, and I kind of forgot how crazy little toddlers can be sometimes and how it’s nearly impossible to have them sit still.…

Italia: Roma + Vatican City

March 28, 2015

Winter is and isn’t the most ideal time to visit Rome: If you hate crowds (like me), winter travel is great, but you will have to deal with a lot of scaffolding covering famous landmarks as this off season is also the ideal time to do restoration and maintenance work. If you imagine romantically enjoying a gelatto while sitting near Trevi Fountain, you’ll have to be ok with trading the sound of water for the clanging of construction workers. You…

Italia: Pisa + Firenze

January 18, 2015

Finally getting around to posting some photos from my visit to Italy. It was so strange seeing these famous landmarks in person. Everything seemed smaller than I imagined–except for the Statue of David. My pictures really don’t show just how impressive the iconic artwork is. The Leaning Tower is definitely very lean-y. Also, if you ever go, I recommend taking advantage of AirBnB rather than the traditional hotel route (if you don’t mind sharing a bathroom with a stranger). You’ll stay in…

Cerne Abbas

Cerne Abbas

The English countryside is where it’s at. The origins of the Cerne Abbas Giant, the supposed giant fertility symbol drawn on a hillside, is apparently up for debate, but it was enticing enough for us to make the drive to the sleepy village.…

London Town

January 10, 2015

Some lens/camera issues meant I unfortunately ended up with a lot of out-of-focus images during my London escapades. I eventually figured out a work-around and was glad that at least a couple images of the incredible poppy display at the Tower of London were salvageable.…

Happy 2015!

January 2, 2015

Nom nom nom… I always enjoy the Japanese deliciousness my mom puts out on New Year’s. I’m sure my love of sashimi will eventually give me mercury poisoning. It’s always a colorful assortment for oshogatsu, although I have to admit, I’m not the biggest fan of some of the items… Happy New Year, everyone!…
